Sheriff officials said on Thursday, Sept. 10, deputies were patrolling the Green Creek community and observed 2 people acting suspicious. The sheriff’s office said a consensual encounter quickly led to the individuals being detained.

Deputies discovered multiple bags of methamphetamine, marijuana, black tar heroin, scales and other drug paraphernalia, stolen checkbooks, stolen debit cards, a stolen registration plate and counterfeit money.

“This was outstanding work by Deputy Hallberg; Sgt. McCraken; Sgt. Kujawa and Deputy DeRosa,” said Polk County Sheriff Tim Wright following the arrest. “This type of proactive enforcement is what we strive for every day in our communities. I’m proud of these deputies learning their assigned zones and knowing when something is out of place and where the citizen concerns and complaints are, so that they can apprehend people like this.”
