After several months of renovations, the seats of the Tryon Theatre were once again filled with movie lovers on Friday. The downtown movie theater reopened this past weekend with the 1939 classic, “The Wizard of Oz,” giving audiences their first look at the numerous improvements owners Scott and Gayle Lane have made to the vintage building. (Photos by Ted Yoakum/Tryon Daily Bulletin)

Guests eagerly file into the theater Friday for the show.

A customer orders concessions before the show.

Patrons stand in line to buy concessions. Behind them are a number of vintage posters the owners have put up to decorate the newly-repainted walls.

In addition to popcorn and candy, the theater is still selling alcohol for patrons to enjoy during the show.
