Judy Christine Sain Smith, 62, of Mill Spring, NC passed away, Tuesday evening, April 17, 2018 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House, Landrum, SC following a long battle with cancer.

Born in Tryon, NC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Sain and Juanita Bradley Sain. Ms. Smith worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse and retired from St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church in the Green River Cove Community.

Surviving is her life-long friend of 54 years, James Steve Smith, Sr. of Saluda; one son, James Steve Smith, Jr. (Janet) of Mill Spring; two daughters, Jeannie Childs (Phillip) of Lawrenceville, GA and Jennifer Skipper (Brandon) of Greer, SC; four brothers, Larry Sain ( Marlyn) of Green River Cove, Don Sain (Mary Ann) of Columbus, David Sain (Connie) of Inman and Phillip Sain (Susan) of Rutherford County; one sister, Ilean McKelvey (Roy) of Green River Cove. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, James Smith, III, Austin Hodge, Ainsley Hodge, Anna Childs, Kensington Skipper, Athena Childs and Brayden Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hendersonville with Rev. Ronnie Hodge officiating.

Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at her home.
