Professional artists created collaborative works to represent unity in the foothills

One of three impressive pieces of art is on display at the Polk County Library in Columbus. Two additional panels of multi-media collage are on display at Black Coffee in Tryon and Southern Delights in Landrum through the end of the month.

The large collages are part of the UNITY Project that has brought artists—young and old, professional and amateur—together to define what ‘unity’ means to the foothills communities.

Professional artists Douglas Chamberlain, Carol Beth Icard, Annette Wells, David Edgar, Janet Orselli, Patricia Cole-Ferullo, Grace Lertora, and Esten Osten contributed their talents to the collaborative panels.

Following their month-long exhibit, the three panels will also go on display at Isothermal Community College, The Meeting Place, and schools throughout the county. The UNITY project was made possible by grant support from the Polk County Community Foundation.
