Earl Taylor, age 91, of 8221 Hwy 108 Mill Spring, N.C. passed away on Sunday July 27, 2014 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, S.C. Earl was a native of Polk County, a member and former choir leader at Pea Ridge Baptist Church and was retired from poultry production.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Allen Taylor, a son Eric Taylor, parents Oliver and Iva Taylor and a sister Ethel Carswell.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Mary Earl Crowe and husband Max of Mill Spring; granddaughter Carrie (Lee) Greene of Hartsville, S.C.; Megan Flythe of Lexington, S.C.; Nathan (Jenny) Crowe of Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren; Taylor Greene, Holden Greene, Max Flythe and Lila Crowe; and sister Addie Mae Carswell.

Funeral services will be conducted at Pea Ridge Baptist Church on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Taylor will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
