St. Luke’s Hospital welcomes patient financial services manager

Caryl Mitchell recently joined the St. Luke’s Hospital’s team as patient financial services manager and

will assume responsibility for managing the patient accounting and patient access departments.

Mitchell comes to St. Luke’s from Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) where she held various supervisory roles in the legal accounts, commercial/managed care and Medicare departments of the CHS System Business Office. Mitchell has also worked with NCO Financial Systems, a company that provides revenue cycle services to healthcare providers.

“I am excited to have someone of Caryl’s caliber and experiences join our team,” said Christine Martin, chief financial officer of St. Luke’s Hospital. “This is an important position at St. Luke’s Hospital, and we are pleased that she will bring great professional and personal skills to benefit our hospital.”

With Mitchell on board, St. Luke’s Hospital’s Patient Financial Services will focus on efforts that will allow the efficient, effective and accurate billing and collection of patient accounts and receivables.

Mitchell and her husband Barry have relocated to the Columbus area and look forward to enjoying the western part of the state. In addition to her work, Mitchell has numerous areas of interests including reading, gardening, watching old movies and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.
