The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a Two Man Stableford format along with closest to the pin contests on the two par threes on June 17. There were 16 two-man teams competing for the win. The winners were as follows:

 

1st place – Roger Dehnel & Richard Barraud – 54 points

 

2nd place – Charles Enicks & Ed Weatherby – 51 points

 

3rd place – Tommy Richardson & Jack Saunders – 49 points

 

4th place – John Schickling & Tom Murdoch – 47 points

 

 

Closest to the pin winners:

 

#3 – Gerald Holstein – 9’

 

#3 (Forward Tees) – Jack Saunders – 7’ 6”

 

#8 – Charles Enicks – 12’ 8”

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a “Throw out your worst hole” format on June 18. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Joyce Arledge, Claudia Law, Inglis Sellick, (BP) Becky Kennedy – 132

 

2nd place – Bonnie Sakos, Lisa Bjerring, Caroline Brown, Anne Connolly – 134
