On June 3, the Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a Carolina Scramble and had closest-to-the-pin contests on the two par 3’s. The winners were as follows:

1st place – Jerry Pospisil, Mel Graf, Hub Arledge, Jack Saunders – 29

2nd place – Vic Ketchman, Roger Dehnel, Ted Hiley, Bill Hillhouse – 31

3rd place – Russ Rabenstein, Donnie Carruth, Jerry Perry, Ken Johnston – 32

4th place – Charlie Enicks, Mike Axelrod, Jim Shirley, Bill Basye – 33

On June 10, The Tryon Men’s Golf Association played a 2 best balls of 4 format along with closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3’s. One team played extremely well, with everyone else packed closely together. The results were:

1st place – Doug Gelbert, Tom Bolling, Jim Diggs, Mike Sullivan – 59

2nd place – Hub Arledge, John House, Bill Basye, Jim Shirley – 65

3rd place – Brad Rakow, Dennis Felker, Gerry Holstein, Ken Watson – 65

4th place – Vic Ketchman, Simon Turnnidge, Dave Hosick, Ken Johnston – 65
