The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association Played a match-play format along with a closest-to-the-pin contest on #3 on June 4. The women were divided into two teams and played matches within their foursomes. Each match was worth 9 points, and there were 5 matches.

Team B won with 30 ½ points. Team A had 14 ½ points.

Members of Team B were Patty Aldred (who won her match), Peggy Henson and Becky Kennedy (who won their match), Bonnie Sakos and Lib McKeller (who won their match), Inglis Sellick and Mary Lou Diekmann (who won their match), and Diane Torres and Lisa Bjerring (who lost their match).

Ann Gargiulo & Kimberly Broussard won their match but were part of Team A, which lost.

Closest-to-the-pin winner was Patty Aldred – 20’ 2”
