COLUMBUS—A public hearing on Polk County’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 will take place on Monday, June 3, at 5 p.m., ahead of its regularly scheduled meeting.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed budget, which is available for review at www.polknc.org or at the county manager’s office located at 40 Courthouse St. in Columbus. The hearing will follow a budget work session held by the Board of Commissioners.

During the regular meeting, Polk County commissioners will consider a proposal to allow St. Luke’s Hospital to sublease the property where the hospital sits to AdventHealth. If approved, the proposal would be voted on at the June 17 BOC meeting, and, if agreed upon, potentially allow St. Luke’s Hospital to partner with AdventHealth.
