Polk County fans will again be able to support the Wolverines’ girls soccer team in person at no cost.

Two local businesses will be paying for tickets for all Polk County fans attending Tuesday’s 1A West Regional final in G.M. Tennant Stadium against Christ the King. The match will start at 7:30 p.m.

Brian Carroll and Brock Carroll of Mapleton Lane Custom Homes and Renae Waldman and Trey Dusenbury of Dusenbury Insurance Agency will be teaming up to provide tickets for all Wolverine fans attending the regional final. Those supporting the Wolverines are asked to wear blue or other school-related gear to show support for the team.

There will be a separate entrance for Wolverine fans. Visiting fans will be required to purchase general admission tickets for entrance.

Christ the King (17-3) is the two-time defending state 1A champion. The Crusaders are led by goalkeeper Elizabeth Navola, a Wofford College signee, and defender Brianna Pacholski, a University of Tampa signee. Freshmen Addie Peirce (24 goals) and Rylan Nicholson (12 goals) are the team’s top scorers.

The late start time is being set due to CTK’s graduation, which is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. The North Carolina High School Athletic Association declined to allow the match to be moved to Wednesday.
