COLUMBUS—After a successful Holiday Market, the Kids Makers Market will return to Stearns Park this summer. The market will be held on June 29 from 9 a.m. to noon in Columbus, running concurrently with the Polk County Farmers Market that day.

‘Summerfest’ will be the theme of both markets. Having both at the same time will allow the community to support local artisans at both markets.

The Kids Makers Market allows young artisans to create and sell their handmade goods. These markets foster confidence and creativity in children. Customer engagement gives them the opportunity to earn some money for their goods but also helps them with their social skills.

The markets have proven to be a wonderful initiative that empowers young creators to learn the process of running a business.

Community members can register young artisans at https://forms.gle/we838CrBdu21m2M88 or by emailing trails@polknc.org.

Stearns Park is located at 125 E. Mills St. in Columbus.
