LANDRUM—On the morning of Saturday, May 18, deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Landrum area after a man was found dead.

Officials received a 911 call around 6:30 a.m. regarding an unknown deceased individual in the area of North Highway 14 near Smith Road.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Justin Scott Grooms, 40, of Landrum. The cause of death is currently unknown. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

The death is currently being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the coroner’s office, and GCSO.
