Robert, known by many as Rocky, was a career real estate broker and realtor. He found great joy being on the lake with his family and he and Susan built their retreat on Lake Hartwell. Robert and Susan were equine enthusiasts. Together they trained and showed Arabian horses and got into horse show management. Robert became licensed as a horse show steward and founded the Summer Saddle Up Riding Camp after Susan’s death. The Camp focused on horse training for young people who may never have a chance to experience the thrill of horse riding and care. He also was instrumental in the creation of the South Carolina Upstate Equine Council where he served as the Vice-Chairperson.

Robert leaves his sons, Jason Obermiller and Matthew (Tiffany) Obermiller; and his brother, J.D.
