FOOTBALL: Polk to open 2024 football season at Madison

Polk County will kick off the 2024 football season on August 23 with a trip to Madison.
Head coach Dustin Fry will begin his second campaign leading the Wolverine program with a pair of non-conference road dates, with Polk traveling to Tuscola in the second week of the regular season.
The Wolverines will return home on Sept. 6 for the first of three consecutive dates in G.M. Tennant Stadium, welcoming Blue Ridge (S.C.). It will mark the first meeting between the programs since the 1996 season.
Polk County will host Landrum on Sept. 13 before opening Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play on Sept. 20 against Patton and new head coach Billy Whisenant.
The Wolverines will then begin a three-game road trip, starting with a Sept. 27 date at Hendersonville, then an Oct. 4 game at R-S Central, which will also boast a new head coach in Jim Ryan. Following an open week, Polk will visit Chase on Oct. 18.
Polk County will conclude its regular season with home games against East Rutherford (Oct. 25) and Brevard (Nov. 1).
The Wolverines will have two preseason appearances, hosting a scrimmage on August 9 and then traveling on August 16 to East Henderson.
