Wolverine golfers fashion season’s best round at Cleghorn

Polk County’s boys golf team put together its best round of the season Monday in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match at Cleghorn Golf and Country Club.
The Wolverines posted a team score of 355 in the conference match, narrowly finishing sixth in the team competition.
R-S Central won the match with a score of 325, followed by Hendersonville (336) and East Rutherford (337). Chase had a 349, Brevard a 351, with Patton in seventh with a 428.
Chase’s Brock Reid took medalist honors with a 70, topping Hendersonville’s Hunter Toney, who fired a 72. Polk’s Avery Harden finished with an 85, with Myles Menetre just behind with an 86. Tourin Jackson had a 90, with Piercen Edwards recording a 94 and Tanner Osborn a 115.
“Piercen, Tourin and Myles had their season bests,” said Polk County head coach Pat McCool. “We’re moving in the right direction. I was very pleased with our progress.”
