The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association had 18 teams of two competing in a “Two Man” combined score event on April 8. The weather was great, but the greens were quick. They also had Closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3s. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Vic Ketchman & Mike Sullivan – 72

2nd place – John Schickling & Jim Diggs – 72

3rd place – Brad Rakow & Ken Watson – 74

4th place – Art Brown & Mike Bates – 75

 

Closest-to-the-pin on #3 – (G/B Tees) – Doug Gelbert – 11’ 6”

Closest-to-the-pin on #3 – (Forward Tees) – John Schickling – 9’ 10 ½”

Closest-to-the-pin on #8 – (G/B Tees) – Ken Johnston – 10’
