Walker signing books at The Book Shelf on Saturday

TRYON—Tryonite Mary Maroney Walker, daughter of the late Bill and Cynthis Maroney, will be signing books at The Book Shelf on Saturday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m. 

A lifelong artist, she is well known for her work all over the Southeast and Northeast. Walker is one of three artists currently exhibiting at the Upstairs Artspace and is a painter and printmaker. 

Born in New York and raised in Tryon, she exhibits regularly and lives on Johns Island outside of Charleston, S.C. She is the winner of numerous regional grants and residencies, and has worked in several print studios including King Snake Press in Greenville, Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in NYC, Print Studio South in Charleston, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, Santa Reparta in Florence, Italy, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., Spirit Square in Charlotte, Castle Hill in Truro, Mass., New Grounds Print Studio in Albuquerque, N.M. and Studio Due on Johns Island.

Through BIG INK, she has printed at the Maryland Art Center, Riverspace in Lynchburg, Va., and Artspace in Raleigh. She is a member of the Contemporary Print Cooperative in Greenville.

Walker is represented by the Corrigan Gallery in Charleston and the Julie Heller Gallery in Provincetown, Mass..
