Polk County fashioned its second shutout in as many days Tuesday, keeping Chase off the scoreboard for a 4-0 win in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference girls soccer action in G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Wolverines (3-1-3, 2-1) posted their third straight shutout in shutting down the Trojans (4-3, 0-1), who have lost three of their last four matches.

Charley Dusenbury scored Polk’s lone first-half goal, starting the play with a throw-in deep in Chase’s end of the field to Caroline Taylor. Taylor returned the ball to Dusenbury, who hit a high drive that curled just inside the post and into the left corner of the net for a 1-0 advantage.

The Wolverines then pulled away in the second half as Hayden Blackwell scored midway through the period and Elena Carroll added two more goals, one of those on a penalty kick.

Polk County continues its current homestand on Thursday, hosting R-S Central for a 6 p.m. conference clash.
