A Polk County 8U softball team took first place Thursday in a preseason softball tournament held in Landrum by the Landrum Youth Association.

The team, which won all four of its games in the tournament, is coached by Heath Price, Michelle Fagan, Chad Gossett, Jason Fisher and Sarah Fisher.
