TRYON—On Wednesday, March 20, Andrea Sprott will speak to the Tryon Garden Club about the Elizabeth Lawrence House and Garden in Charlotte. Sprott will present an in-depth look at Elizabeth Lawrence, an award-winning author, and 75 years of her Charlotte garden.

Elizabeth Lawrence was one of the 20th century’s best writers of garden literature. Her garden was a dynamic laboratory where Lawrence worked to determine what plants would grow well in the Mid-South.

Sprott will discuss how the property demonstrates for the public Elizabeth Lawrence’s vision of a living horticultural learning center. On a small city lot, it features an amazing array of plants with something in bloom every day of the year. The highlights are heirloom, unique, and rare woody plants, perennials, and bulbs.
