TRYON—Singers and actors from across the Carolinas are invited to audition for a powerful, award-winning musical to be performed this summer. Shakespeare & Friends will present the musical Floyd Collins from June 26 through June 30 in Tryon.

This unique 1996 masterpiece, with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and book by Tina Landau, is based on the true story of a Kentucky cave explorer who went in search of fame and fortune in a true hero’s journey. Lauded as “the most daring musical of our time” by NY Magazine, this production will be directed by Catherine Gillet with music direction by Holt McCarley.

Auditions will be held at the Tryon Depot Room, located at 22 Depot Street in Tryon on Sunday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, March 4, from 4 to 8 p.m.
