GIRLS BASKETBALL: Staton sets 3-point record to lead Wolverines to win at Chase

Bailey Staton set a school record Friday for 3-point shooting to lead Polk County to a 67-15 victory at Chase.

Staton hit seven 3-pointers in the win, breaking the record she shared with former Wolverine Leah Justice. She finished 7-of-9 from the 3-point line and had 27 points in the win. Staton also had seven assists.

Polk County (13-8, 7-3) dominated the game against the winless Trojans (0-19, 0-9). The Wolverines led 25-4 at the end of the first period and 40-4 at halftime.

Kylie Lewis added 20 points and 11 rebounds, with Kiera Littlejohn scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Charley Dusenbury had four points and five assists, with Brianna Gray and Jayden Duncan each scoring two.

Polk County returns home Tuesday to face Mountain Foothills 7 Conference leader East Rutherford.
