COLUMBUS – Betty Rae Hart Sellers, 89, of Columbus, passed away on Friday morning, February 9, 2024, at her home.

A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ray Hart and Evelyn Ritchey Hart and wife of the late Al Sellers who passed away in 2016. Mrs. Sellers and her family moved to several states and settled in Bishopville, South Carolina. When her parents’ health started failing, she moved back to Polk County to help take care of them. She was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church, loved shopping, television and socializing with friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Boykin and a son-in-law, Steve Culbreth.

Surviving are three daughters, Debbie Mathis (Wayne) of Sumter, South Carolina, Sharon Kissiah (Malcolm) of Hartsville, South Carolina and Barbara Culbreth of Eastover, North Carolina; two sons, Allen Sellers of Columbus and Trey Sellers of Asheville; one sister, Pat Bunch of Columbus; son-in-law, Jake Boykin of Bishopville, South Carolina. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Columbus

A funeral service will follow Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Randall Wood and Reverend Peter McDonald officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
