Tryon’s Historic Eastside Community will celebrate Black History Month with a special program on Saturday, February 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Roseland Community Center.
In keeping with the 2024 national theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” “An Evening of Story and Song” will feature readings from African American literature and musical selections from the Black Experience by Eastside residents and guests. Various displays, including artwork by 10-year-old Savion Holland, also will be featured. A lavish Welcome Table will top off the evening.
There is no charge for attending, but seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to “dress to impress.” Roseland Community Center is located at 56 Peake St. in Tryon.
