Owner Amanda Edwards is originally from Indianapolis, IN, but moved to Tryon in 2012 and has resided in Green Creek since 2017. Edwards began her hand-poured candles at the Landrum Farmers Market with her mother and wanted to extend her creative outlets.

“I wanted to start Page and Flame because I think every town should have a bookstore,” said

Edwards. “I don’t look at it as starting a business per se, I look at it as a service, because books make people happy.”

Edwards came up with the name Page and Flame in recognition of her two passions.

“I am a writer and I’m also a chandler, so that’s how I came up with the name,” Edwards explained.

The location will also offer special book and candle pairings, in which books will be sold with candles that complement their theme. In addition, customers will be able to special order books through their website and pick up their books at the physical store.

Located at the Shops at LAM, Edwards is having two partition walls removed to expand Page and Flame’s overall space, and she hopes for the store to have its own standalone building in the near future.

“Renovations will start fairly soon, and we don’t have a set date, but we’re hoping for an opening sometime this spring,” Edwards said.

Page and Flame will be located at the Shops at Lam, located at 221 E Rutherford St. in Landrum, which is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The store’s website, pageandflame.com, will be operational soon. Interested parties can find more information and message Amanda Edwards at greencreekcandlecompany.com.
