Polk County Middle secured sole possession of the Blue Ridge Conference East Division title and continued its drive for another undefeated regular season with a 75-25 win Tuesday over visiting Rugby Middle.

The Wolverines improved to 13-0 overall, 9-0 in East Division matches. Polk closes its regular season on Thursday at home against Apple Valley.

Polk Middle never trailed in Tuesday’s match, with Silas Amorelli winning the day’s opener with a quick first-period pin at 76 pounds. The score stood at 24-7 after six matches, but the Wolverines won four of the next six matches and then reeled off five straight wins in the upper weight classes.
