Dramatics were in short supply Tuesday at Polk County.
The Wolverines raced to a 22-0 first-quarter lead and went on to post a 55-21 victory over Chase in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matchup at Polk.
The Trojans (0-10, 0-3), very much in a rebuilding year, trailed 30-2 at halftime, their lone basket coming on a Carley Jones bucket. Senior Montana Honeycutt hit three 3-pointers in the second half and Madison VonBriel had two threes to account for 15 of Chase’s 21 points.
Polk County (9-6, 3-1) liberally played its entire roster. Bailey Staton finished with 19 points, with Mia Bradley continuing her sizzling shooting from the 3-point stripe of late, hitting three triples and finishing with 10 points.
Kiera Littlejohn had eight points, with Charley Dusenbury scoring six. Kylie Lewis and Raney Tallon each scored four, with Beiha Olivari and Brianna Gray each tallying two.
Polk County will travel Friday to East Rutherford to face the conference-leading Cavaliers.
