Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Foothills Music Club met Thursday, January 11, at Tryon First Baptist Church.  The theme of the program was “Adaptations from Film Music.”

The program opened with a lovely arrangement for melodica, recorder and piano of “Gabriel’s Oboe” from The Mission. A vocal rendition of “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s was followed by the ever-favorite “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music, performed on harmonica with guitar accompaniment.

There was an animated vocal performance of “I’m Just Ken” from the recently-released movie Barbie. A lyrical adaptation of “The Way We Were” from the movie of the same name reminded members of the past activities of the Foothills Music Club, which is now celebrating its 35th year.
