The Eastside Community will commemorate the continuing legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday, January 13, at 6 p.m., at the Garrison Chapel Baptist Church on Markham Road.

The program will feature a tribute by youth representatives of the community, along with keynote speaker Miss Krishna N. Alexander, a first-year law student at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Alexander is a graduate of Dorman High School and a magna cum laude graduate of USC Columbia where she was active in a number of student organizations. She is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Earl N. Alexander of the Garrison Chapel Baptist Church. Music for the occasion will be by the USC-Upstate Gospel Choir. All are invited to come out and be inspired by the young people.
