Malachi Simpson sparked Hendersonville’s high-octane offense Friday, pouring in 34 points to lead the Bearcats to an 85-43 victory at Polk County in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play.
Simpson had 11 first-quarter points and 23 in the first half as the Bearcats (9-3, 2-0) raced to a 56-25 halftime lead. The 6-6 junior had three 3-pointers and a handful of dunks in his game-leading scoring.
Aaron Jackson and Gunnar Alm led Polk County (2-10, 0-2) with 10 points, with Antonio Simpson adding nine. Avery Harden finished with eight points, with Lawson Carter, Nolan Simpson and Khristian Littlejohn each adding two.
Polk County continues its current four-game homestand on Tuesday as R-S Central visits for another set of conference games.
