Polk County picked up a conference win and senior Jadyn Virgil collected a career milestone Wednesday at East Rutherford.

Virgil recorded the 100th win of his Wolverine wrestling career with a pin of East Rutherford’s Sebastian Mendoza, helping Polk record a 69-12 victory over the Cavaliers in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match in Forest City.

Virgil then collected his 101st career win during the Wolverines’ 40-24 victory over Swain.

The two wins give Polk a 12-5 record in dual matches and improved the Wolverines to 3-0 in MF7 matches as Polk tries to earn its first conference championship since 2004.

The Wolverines will be in action Saturday at the Enka Duals. Nineteen teams are currently listed as entrants for the event.
