Duke Energy offers support to Polk County Schools through holiday program

Tryon Cares presented by Duke Energy in conjunction with Tryon International Equestrian Center Winterfest is a holiday initiative supporting local non-profit organizations.

Duke Energy opted to support Polk County Schools through its sponsorship.

“Polk County Schools is excited to be chosen as the non-profit of choice by Duke Energy, a company that is a positive presence in our community,” said Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene. “The success of Polk County Schools is due to the incredible support of our community and the hard work and dedication of our school employees.

“Attracting and retaining exceptional teachers is an area of focus for the district and we appreciate Duke Energy’s efforts to assist us.”

“Duke Energy is pleased to highlight the work of teachers serving students in Polk County Schools,” said Craig DeBrew, Duke Energy’s District Manager. “Their work to provide a well-rounded, first-class education to PreK through 12th-grade students in Polk County does not go unnoticed.

“Polk County Schools consistently ranks in the top five school districts in North Carolina. Duke Energy is happy to support the efforts of Polk County Schools as they continue to attract and retain great teachers.”

District Year 1 and Year 2 teachers received gift bags from Duke Energy as part of its support.
