Polk County picked up a conference win and two other victories Saturday during the Panther Duals wrestling tourney at Patton High School in Morganton.

The Wolverines defeated the host Panthers 72-12, upping their Mountain Foothills 7 Conference record to 2-0.

Polk also defeated Bunker Hill and Mountain Heritage while suffering a pair of close losses to 2A programs West Lincoln and Lincolnton, traditionally two of the stronger 2A programs in the area.

Brody Wolfe, Efrain Rivera, Amon Villarreal, Styler Blackwell and Zalen McCraw all finished 5-0 for the day.

The Wolverines will return to action on Wednesday, taking part in a tri-match at East Rutherford with the Cavaliers and Swain.
