Christmas wishes and New Year’s resolutions

I was pleased to read our mayor’s Christmas wish list for our town in the paper the other day: that we remain the small, friendly town we were known for; happy to welcome visitors; a small Eden in our Foothills.

Who would not want a town like that?

Now, how about some New Year’s resolutions to make this happen?

Make sure we have REAL decorations on both sides of Main Street next Christmas. This year was shameful: no lights on the trees lining the track, none on Morris nor the children’s Christmas tree.

How about the light display in Harmon Field? It was becoming one of our destinations each year.

Why has a store remained dark for the last three years, a huge blight in an already quarter empty main street.

But most of all: please plan and implement the overhaul of our sewage system. It should have been dealt with years ago.

This town is becoming polluted by constant broken lines with sewage seeping in the ground, running in streets, and flooding homes.

Christmas wishes without New Year’s resolutions are only dreams of LALA LAND.
