The Foothills Music Club met Thursday, December 14, at the home of Elaine Jenkins. Members enjoyed a program of mostly traditional Christmas songs. As well as vocal numbers, there were piano duos; flute solos and duets; a trio of recorder, melodica and piano; and a trio with voice, harmonica and piano.

The purpose of the Foothills Music Club is to encourage musicians in their art and to provide scholarships for young musicians in the area. Plans are already being made for the 2024 scholarship auditions which will be held in early March. High school students who attend a school or reside in Polk or Rutherford counties or in Landrum, SC are eligible to apply.
