Students and staff at Tryon Elementary School collected more than 2,400 pounds of food to be donated to Outreach during a food drive just before Thanksgiving.

Event organizer and faculty member Mandy Wolfe created flyers that were distributed by students seeking donations to “Stock the Pantry.” The TES community responded with some 3,000 food items, all of which went to Outreach to help with its Food Pantry Program.

“With the holidays approaching, it was a perfect time to replenish the shelves at Outreach,” Wolfe said. “It took a team to load the food and transfer it into two vehicles, so a special thank you goes out to some of the fifth graders for their hard work and dedication.”
