Goodwin Hounds held their 2023 Thanksgiving Hunter Pace at Scotsgrove Stables on Sunday, November 19. The day started very cool but turned into a nice comfy day. Landowners Leslie Scott and the Broadus family opened up their properties for a 9-mile Hunter Pace. The usual trails were followed, allowing riders to navigate the trails through woods, fields, power lines, and the pine plantation, with some cross-country jumps. Riders enjoyed a nice walk down “Kudzu Hill.”

Hunt Country Equine is a proud sponsor of this Hunter Pace.

Chair and co-chair Leslie Scott and Kat Dooley, along with the assistance of Terry Carter and Patt Tarr planned and executed a wonderful ride as well as a Pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Feast. Feast Assistants were Carolyne Groves, Sara Isley, Marc James, Cyndi Milligan, Charlotte Nohr, Emmie Osborne and Coleen Wilson. The turkey chefs and carvers were Kat Dooley and Wes Moore. The aroma of the feast was heavy in the air! The lunch table was lovingly prepared by Jim Cassidy, Charlotte Nohr, and Patt Tarr.
