Barber, Morrison take 9th to lead Polk Bass Team in opening tourney

The Polk County High School bass Team opened its 2023-24 season with a solid showing at Clarks Hill Lake in McCormick, S.C.

Competing in a Palmetto Boat Center High School Tournament Trail event, Polk’s team of Banks Barber and Aaron Morrison finished ninth overall. The duo landed five fish with a total weight of 9.21 pounds.

Another Polk team, Tanner Osborn and Piercen Edwards placed 62nd, snaring three fish for a total weight of 3.27 pounds. Wolverines Karsyn Huskey and Konnor Huskey finished tied for 86th.

Fielding Faulkenberry and Grayden Hovis of York County High School Anglers won the event with five fish weighing in at 15.07 pounds.

Almost 100 boats competed in the tournament.

The Polk teams will next be on the water on Dec. 2, taking part in a competition at Lake Hartwell.
