TRYON—The annual Tryon Halloween Stroll was a big hit Tuesday evening, as Trade Street was filled with witches, clowns, superheroes and countless costumed characters. Trick-or-treaters turned out in droves to gather treats from businesses that had ornate and spooky displays set up along the sidewalks.

The evening culminated with a costume contest at the clock tower, with emcee Andy Millard announcing winners in the various age groups and categories. Prizes were awarded to the scariest, cutest and best overall costumes.

The event was organized by the Tryon Downtown Development Association and the Town of Tryon.
