The Wheels to Whiskers Car Show held on Sunday, October 22 at Harmon Field was a huge success with 93 cars, trucks and bikes participating in the competition. The event raised $14,000 for Foothills Humane Society.

The weather was beautiful and lots of people came out to admire the cars, shop at the vendors, buy raffle tickets, watch a dog training demo by Dina Zapharis and meet dogs available for adoption. Music was provided by  Broad River Jam and Marley’s Chain, and food by Manzolina’s Eatery. Anita Williamson served as the announcer, and spectators voted for their favorites.

Lisa Bishop won the category of Best Car with her 1934 Plymouth sedan, and Suzie Hayes won Best Bike with her 1957 BMW R60/2 with sidecar. The winner of the Best Truck category was Joe Covil.

“This was our first time doing a car show as a fundraiser, so we were learning on the fly,” said board member Amanda McDonald, who chaired the Car Show Committee. “We are grateful to everyone who was a part of it.”

The Board of Foothills Humane Society is grateful to the volunteers, staff, sponsors and community members who supported this event.
