Saluda Elementary School helped make the recent Gran Fondo Hincapie a bit more enjoyable for riders by manning a rest stop for the competitors.

More than 2,000 cyclists took part in the Gran Fondo, either riding 50 or 80 miles as part of the event. Those cyclists were able to visit Saluda’s “You’ve Made the Grade – A+” rest area twice during the journey through the town, with volunteers offering drinks, nutritional snacks and cheerful attitudes.

Saluda Elementary would like to thank the students, parents, staff, alumni and families who helped make the stop a success. The teamwork and effort put forth helped create an unforgettable experience for bicyclists from around the world. 

Hincapie Sports “gives back” to Saluda School each year and donations will be used to add additional play opportunities at the school playground.
