Her presentation, “The Pleasure and Perils of Publication,” will be an opportunity for writers or aspiring writers in the area to further their skills by meeting a well-published author, learning additional writing mechanics, overcoming writer’s block, and discovering more about self-publishing.

Jones has been a writer for over 70 years and has devised ways to find income through the written word. She is inspiring, informative, and entertaining. To quote Maryneal: “Good writing is truth.”

When she began her career at age 15, her story unfolded on the education beat and as society editor of her local newspaper. She has written magazine articles, histories, a biography and her memoirs. A national prize-winning journalist, she was the first female, non-secular editor for a statewide church magazine in 142 years.

Her creative writing students at Furman University and Chesterfield Marlboro Tech could attest to her skills. Anyone attending her seminars and tutoring programs has received valuable tips and tricks.

The Writing Roundtable Group meets monthly. For more information, contact David Matthiesen at matthiesen042@gmail.com.
