The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a 1-2-3 Best Ball format on Monday, September 25. They also had closest-to-the-pin contests on both par 3s. There were nine groups competing and the scores were close. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Vic Ketchman, Ed Weatherby, Art Brown, Jim Shirley – 60

2nd place – Jerry Pospisil, Russ Rabenstein, Richard Barraud, (BP) Jim Diggs – 60 – (lost scorecard playoff)

3rd place – Bill Basye, Jerry Perry, Dennis Sakos, (BP) Donnie Carruth – 62

4th place – Hub Arledge, Dave Gunter, Bill Hillhouse, (BP) Jim Shirley – 62 – (lost scorecard playoff)
