The reception will take place at the gallery, located at 78 N. Trade St. in downtown Tryon, and will feature 12×12 canvases for sale created by TPS member artists. Each painting will be priced at $100 to encourage the patron to own a piece by a local artist, and the money raised from the event will go to funding the nonprofit art gallery. The event will feature the musical stylings of Dean Trakas.

The fundraiser will be “an evening of art, fun, wine, food, and laughter with new and old friends,” said organizer Nancy Holland.

Tryon Painters and Sculptors is a 68-year-old nonprofit organization, and its gallery is constantly offering new exhibits from its artists. The TPS gift shop also features other artists’ creations in the form of pottery, jewelry, hand-painted scarves and gift cards.

TPS holds classes and workshops in the building’s lower level, ranging from lessons on oil, acrylic and watercolor, to hand-crafted paper mache.
