Third annual event held in conjunction with Feed the Foothills food drive

 

TRYON—The Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Harmon Field Music Festival took place on Saturday, September 23, in conjunction with the Feed the Foothills food drive. 

Held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harmon Field, the family event had a craft fair and kid’s zone, with face painting, bouncy houses and raffle prizes. The Harmon Field Music Festival treated fans to musical acts such as Tony Slaughter, the Rich Nelson Band, Misdemeanor and Diamonds and Whiskey.

The event saw dozens of volunteers to support the charitable cause, including Abigail McCool and Ramey Martin of the Polk High School Interact Club, who volunteered to serve food at the festival. “We just like to help out, and it’s nice to help the community out,” said McCool. “It’s fun to volunteer with your friends.”

The event also featured food trucks and dozens of local vendors participated. 

“We wanted to get more involved in our community, and we were lucky enough to get an opportunity to get involved with this charitable Feed the Foothills concert, so we sponsored the event and set up a booth,” said Ryan Mesa, co-owner of Back Alley Bud Bar in Tryon,” We want to meet our community and help have a positive impact.”

Hundreds showed up to enjoy the music, food and perfect weather, including Natalie Castillo of Green Creek. “It’s a beautiful day, and we wanted to help support the local food drive,” said Castillo.
