LANDRUM—Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity is honored to announce the groundbreaking for the Lee Cobourn Memorial Home on Friday, September 29 at 3 p.m. The public is invited.

In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Tryon, the new Habitat home will be built in memory of Lee Cobourn, a longtime Habitat volunteer and board member, at 410 North Trade Street in Landrum.

Longtime, skilled volunteers like Lee Cobourn enable Habitat to provide safe, sturdy, well-built, affordable homes for our neighbors. Lee was quite proud of his work and service for Habitat and his Kiwanis International group. He passed away on November 2, 2022, at the age of 82. The support from Lee and the Cobourn family is very much appreciated.

Lee put a donation to Habitat in his will that will cover most of the cost of the foundation, and the roof is being sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Tryon.
