TRYON—The Foothills Music Club held the first meeting of the 2023-2024 season on Thursday, September 14, at Tryon First Baptist Church.

Appropriately titled “Starting Anew,” the program consisted of a variety of musical selections ranging from the 1500s to the present day, representing twelve different composers. All members of the club participated in the program, performing vocally and on piano, recorder, melodica, harmonica, flute and bassoon.

The Foothills Music Club meets monthly from September to May. The purpose of the club is to give musicians the opportunity to improve and share their musical skills and to encourage young musicians by giving annual scholarships.
