Popular restaurant plans to open at new location by end of year

LANDRUM— Southern Manners, a popular Columbus eatery, will be relocating to the Landrum area later this year. After serving the Columbus community for more than ten years, the restaurant will be moving to the building that was formerly occupied by Cunningham’s just outside Landrum.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Pat and Trish Overholt, who originally opened the restaurant in May of 2013.

“We plan to be moved in by late November, and our goal is to open on December 4,” Trish told the Bulletin on Tuesday. “We just wanted our own place, and we’ll have a lot more space, more room for parking, more options at our new location.”

The menu won’t be changing, so loyal customers will be able to enjoy the same great food and atmosphere as they did for many years in Columbus.

“We’re just very excited,” said Trish. “And our customers are very excited.”

When the restaurant first opened, Pat told the Bulletin that Southern Manners was more than fresh, homemade meals.

“We are not here just to serve good food,” Pat said. “Yes, that is a big part of it, but we are here to be a blessing to the community and to provide a place where people can come eat and enjoy good fellowship.”

The Overholts look to continue that tradition in their new location, which is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. and features plenty of room for parking.

Southern Manners’ new location will be at 2915 Highway 14 E., Landrum, SC, right at the North Carolina and South Carolina state line.
