‘Praising in the Park’ returns to Tryon

Unity in the Community’s annual Praising in the Park event will return to Tryon on Saturday, September 16, at 4 p.m.

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the event will be bigger and better than in previous years. Special guests include God’s Children, from Memphis, Tenn., which consists of a mother and her four children. Deniuifey African Drums and Dance Company from Charleston, S.C., and Azar King’s Poetry Slam are performing artists bringing something new to Praising in the Park. 

Other participants in the annual event include The Golden Trumpets, from Forest City, NC; Nancy and the Anointed Voices, from Woodruff, S.C.; Together, from Spartanburg and Changed, from Inman.

Admission is free, and free food will be available, as well. This event will take place at Rogers Park, located at 55 W. Howard St. in Tryon.

Praising in the Park is funded by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation’s Free Community Events Fund.
